We are pleased to offer an exciting and innovative educational package for pupils and schools in South Yorkshire.
What is Enterprise Brazil?
Enterprise is a FREE educational programme for schools and youth groups. It can be adapted to suit Primary Schools, Secondary Schools or Colleges or any Youth Group.
The timescale is variable however we suggest that the project takes place for a full or half term.
A Mind Apart Theatre Company is a community based social enterprise, we are a not for profit organisation and all the money we make supports the work we do in the community in England and Brazil.
Currently we are developing an internship programme with young Brazilian adults who are from a disadvantaged area in the North East of Brazil. We will offer four Brazilians the chance to visit Sheffield and share their experiences and culture with the Sheffield Communities while developing their skills. By offering our support, they will develop their skills in order to allow them to work in Brazil with their local community and expand our work in the shanty towns of Brazil.
Your students will create a business or fundraising event in which their aim is to make a profit. Any profit which is made will go directly to supporting the Brazilian project at A Mind Apart Theatre Company.
When the Brazilian interns visit Sheffield they will perform a special event at your school based on their areas of expertise.
What’s in it for you?
In order to gain our funding, we want to work with students to develop their business/ fundraising skills by creating a project in which they will be tutored by Jodie Marshall the Managing Direction of A Mind Apart Theatre Company (who is currently studying a Masters Degree in Cooperative and Social Enterprise Management).
We can deliver this project as part of PSHE, Business lessons and fit it around your schools curriculum or activites, or as an extra programme for your students and young people.
Jodie is an excellent teacher who has worked in Brazil and with all ages in both Countries. She also works for Sheffield Colleges. This support will be FREE and the only money we will take from schools is the profit which students make, which will then be used to fund our work with Brazil.
